Jim’s contemporary blues-rock style has a uniquely modern feel with contemporary lyrics and explosive guitar lines, but it respectfully bows to the core soul that has been embodied in the blues throughout the ages. It is Jim’s dream to help foster the blues to a larger audience. His newest album, Overclocked, is an ambitious, perfectly crafted 13-song set of original blistering blues, sophisticated jazz, heavy rock and tender pop ballads spotlighting his virtuoso guitar chops, creative lyrics and mellifluous vocals.

“Overclocked” is a computer term about cranking up the clock rate of a computer usually done by gamers who want a screaming fast machine. By increasing the clock speed the computer runs faster, but often overheats and requires special cooling. This song is itself overclocked and it is about how I feel when it’s time to party.

This is a rather personal story of a relationship where after a breathtaking night the person you’ve been with tells you the next morning they have to go see their old lover to say goodbye (“just one more time”). Set in the deep south.

This song is dedicated to all the celebrities, politicians and business people (almost always men) who can’t seem to remain faithful and then they lie repeatedly even when everyone knows they are lying.

Sometimes people tell you that “you can’t accomplish that” or “you have to do it ‘this’ way”. Throughout my life I have heard people tell me I couldn’t possibly do or accomplish what I wanted to do. So this song is dedicated to all the people like me who have dreams and they are tired of their boss, their friends, and others telling them what they can or can’t do.
